Small Town Shade is a country quintet out of Cortland, NY featuring dueling lead vocals, driving guitars, and an infectious rhythm section. Formed in the summer of 2015, Shade began as a duo with cousins Nick Stark and Aaron Craig. The pair soon found themselves booking gigs at larger venues and realized that, to achieve the sound they were looking for, they needed to expand. The cousins added Rocco Rich on guitar/vocals, Mike Marcey on bass, and Alex Faucett on lead guitar. The summer of 2016 brought on a line up change, with Jeremy Barbour taking over lead guitar duties. The expansion to their current lineup has allowed the group to establish themselves as one of the most buzzworthy country acts in the recent future. In just one year they’ve opened for the likes of Old Dominion, Frankie Ballard, Tyler Farr, Granger Smith, Parmalee, and many more. They have also achieved radio success with their single "Can't Stop, Won't Stop" playing on country radio and earning a Josie Show Award for 2016 Modern Country Breakthrough Band. This was the first single released off their debut EP “Ring It Up”, the album responsible for the group’s victories for 2017 Syracuse Area Music Awards (SAMMY) for Best Country Recording and People’s Choice Best Band. Recently, they brought home another JMA for 2017 Modern Country Entertainer of the Year. In the fall of 2017, Jeremy Barbour departed from the band and made a permanent move to Nashville, TN.
